Surf And Rescue Pets
Rescuing sea pets is the heart of the game — the official description opens with "Rescue Sea Pets 🐢" and "Clean Dirty Pets ✨". This page collects everything that can be confirmed from public sources today, and is honest about the (still large) unknown list.
How to rescue and catch pets
- Spot the sad face. Buried pets are marked with a sad-face emoji on the sand; dig beams mark the active spot.
- Press E to dig. The "Player Dig Help" prompt lets friends join and speed up the dig.
- Wash the pet clean at a CLEANING station — the Common Hose is the starter washer.
- Keep it. Rescued pets go to your inventory and, eventually, your aquarium — the first full gameplay creator describes building "my own aquarium from nothing."
Catching bigger animals
The developer's own short is literally titled "How to catch a bigger animal", and its answer has three parts: invite friends (extra strength + shovel help), train pool speed (to outrun the sharks guarding richer water), and upgrade your shovel at the shovel shop. The first gameplay creator's community prompt — "What's the rarest sea pet you've rescued?" — confirms rarity is the collection meta players care about. Tiers above Rare have not been observed in any checked source and are not listed here.

The trash stuck to the shark in the official art (cans, rings, a net) suggests the ocean-cleanup theme: pets aren't just dirty, they're littered on. That matches the trash visible on later islands' beaches in footage.
